Organization: The Atlantic
My role: As manager for research and product insights, I spoke with Atlantic readers to understand their needs and habits as they relate to search. This first stage of research helped me map user needs, a crucial step for designers to create The Atlantic’s first search function. Once the product team had the first version available, I conducted usability testing to assess whether it resonated with news readers. This research also helped the development of the search function in the Atlantic app, one of the top requests from Atlantic readers to improve their experience using the app.
